About Me

In 2001, I began working for the Humane Society of Indianapolis as a kennel supervisor. Shortly thereafter, I was given the opportunity to manage their Animal Behavior and Training Department. This opportunity was the catalyst for my career as a professional Dog Trainer and Dog Behavior Consultant.
I am currently the Director of Pet Behavior Services for the Broad Ripple Animal Clinic & Wellness Center and the Head Master for Bark Tutor School for Dogs in Indianapolis. This is my perfect place because I am encouraged, and expected, to develop both personally and professionally into the dog trainer I want to be.
I have successfully completed the Purdue University DOGS! Course. This intensive five day course, with a proctored exam, covers the principles and techniques of behavior modification.
In 2003, I sat for the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers Certified Professional Dog Trainer examination, earning the Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KSA) credential. This is the only objective certification offered for Professional Dog Trainers in the United States.
I joined the organization's Board of Directors in 2009 and currently volunteer as the Exam Development Committee Chair. After releasing the first objective examination for dog behavior consultants, I became one of the first behavior consultants in the country to earn the Certified Dog Behavior Consultant Canine (CBCC-KA) credential.
I exhibited my first dog, a Basenji, in 2002 and have since handled several breeds including Basenjis, Poodles, Afghan Hounds, Briards and Mastiffs.
